holi (stick) 8233 blackburn is an aluminium-free deodorant by Agent Nateur, built on organic coconut oil, plant butters and beeswax. The texture is velvety and glides over the underarm without dragging. Baking soda absorbs moisture and neutralises odour. Unlike an antiperspirant, the stick does not block the sweat glands: you still sweat, just without the smell.

Organic coconut oil and castor oil work against the bacteria that make sweat smell in the first place. Coconut oil also brings lauric acid and helps prevent dryness. Sunflower seed and avocado butters supply fatty acids and antioxidants to keep underarm skin soft, even with daily shaving.

8233 Blackburn was founder Jena Covello's address in West Hollywood, where she spent hours blending oils and where Agent Nateur began. The scent is woody and warm: sandalwood and cedarwood give it a dry structure, tonka bean and vanilla make it soft and creamy, patchouli adds an earthy undertone and coconut rounds it off. Covello deliberately placed it between masculine and feminine, so it works for everyone. The stick is scented with a proprietary blend of essential oils and isolates.

A note from a pharmacist's point of view: baking soda is alkaline. If your skin is sensitive, avoid applying the stick straight after shaving and pause for a few days if redness appears. Because it contains beeswax, holi (stick) is not vegan.
